Essential Software and Tools

Some essential software/tools that will make you a smart Mechanical Engineer

1. Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, PPT)-It cannot be ignored by any Engineers in recent time. Even though we know a lot about it, but there are still some powerful tools such as Use of Macros, Track changes, Bibliography, Table of content tool etc in MS Word which could make you editing more simple and efficient.

2. Solidworks- The mother of System Design

3. Comsol Multiphysics- A wonderful software I have ever seen

4. Ansys Fluent/ CFX -For simulating Flow Processes, CFD solution, FEM analysis

5. Matlab- For Mathematical Analysis

6. Borland C++/ Trubo C -for C Programming

7. Labview- There is a wide range of software package. Several experimental setups are designed on the basis of Labview Package
 ........

 If you can combine Microcontroller and Mechanical Systems then you can do/ make a variety of projects. In my opinion one of the best place to learn it in Bangladesh is Pilabs ltd in Bangladesh. But there are some other institutes such as Interface lab run by BRAC University students. Few more in Uttara area. You can learn PLC as well which is helpful in industrial Automation And if you want increase the brand value of your Project to give it a professional look the following software may be useful :

1. Adobe Photoshop
2. Adobe Illustrator
3. Corel Video Studio

 And last but not the least you cannot forget Google, If you have expertise in how efficiently you can use google then you can:

1. Find Values of steams tables, Psychrometry charts etc in seconds by using online calculator
2. Get important book, research papers, journals, proceedings of conference etc at free of cost

 I might miss name of some more helpful software/tools. If anyone knows anything else you can comment in this post.
